MADD Victim Services: We Help Survivors Survive
Life is forever changed after an impaired driving crash. Victims/survivors are often left bereaved, injured and financially devastated. With the emotional, financial and legal issues they face on a daily basis, victims/survivors need support to confront the challenges that lie ahead.
MADD Victim Services offers emotional support, information and referrals to victims/survivors of impaired driving crashes. Services are free of charge and rendered by trained victim advocates.
The goals and objectives of MADD's Victim Assistance Program are:
To provide reassurance, offer empathetic listening, guide in resolving practical problems, provide emotional support and refer to other programs or agencies that provide for the victim/survivor's needs;
To improve access to social programs, financial recovery and legal services through appropriate referrals;
To expand a victim/survivor's opportunity to participate in all crucial stages of the justice process;
And to establish relationships with other organizations and programs that provide services to victims of crime (e.g. local victim services coalitions, law enforcement, prosecutor victim assistance personnel, and traumatic brain injury foundations).
If you are in need of MADD'S Victim Services please call our 24-hour live nationwide helpline at 1-877-623-3435 7 or www.madd.org website. You will be immediately put in contact with a Victim Advocate in your area.
